The photographer and artist Amédé Ackermann was born in 1991 near Düsseldorf. After an initial training as a technical illustrator, Ackermann studied photography at an academy in Cologne. Subsequently, he worked in various photo studios, at a PR agency, as a lecturer at a photography school, and as a part-time teacher at a high school in the art department. Today, he primarily dedicates himself to artistic photography, with a focus on conceptual works, often incorporating digital photo editing techniques like photomontages. In 2020, he was awarded the Art Promotion Prize by the city of Neuss.
StatementThe submitted photographs are part of my photo series "Reality & Fiction." In this series, I photograph buildings and landscapes, which I later combine into a single image using digital image editing. This results in fictional yet realistically-looking architectural photos intended to provoke new perspectives in the viewer. In the process, the photographs of the buildings and landscapes always come from different countries.
