Acrylic on canvas. Depicts the corner of Broadway and 17th Street (Union Square) in NYC on a cool Fall morning. I worked in the Barnes & Noble just half a block east of this intersection for five years, and I would sometimes stop in this deli to pick up a breakfast sandwich before work. The area has changed a lot since I painted this in 2003. Of note: the famous artist Isabel Bishop had her studio on the third floor of this building, which I found out after I completed the painting.
