'Free of Names' combines plant tags from the New York Botanical Garden with glazed ceramic impressions of flower petals. The plant tags are lining the background of the artwork while their wires are curling around the ceramics piece. A layer of silk chiffon is stretched as a second layer in front of this and holds in place geometric pieces of ceramic arranged along an invisible grid pattern across the work. This artwork asks about how we encounter the natural - whether we follow the urge to name all things around us or appreciate their presence.
