Richard Wilshe

Richard Wilshe (Rick) owns and operates a successful company based in PA.  He graduated from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a major in History with a minor in Fine Arts.  Rick worked in lower Manhattan from 1998 to 2003 which is when he fell in love with the local architecture and rediscovered the work of Edward Hopper.  He also met and fell in love with Sherri, a world class opera singer, whom he married in 2009.  They have three children and four grandchildren.  Rick and Sherri reside in Bucks County, PA.

Painting has always been my way of reconnecting to my inner self.  It centers me and blocks out all worries.  I love painting cityscapes and the effect of sunlight and shadows on the buildings.

I started painting in high school and took some courses in college, otherwise am self taught.  I'm a full time business owner and paint when I can.  I have not entered many exhibitions but the two I did enter in the early 2000s were accepted and hung at the Salmagundi Club in NYC and Banana Factory in Bethlehem PA.   I also recently exhibited at the Edward Hopper House annual members juried exhibition (December 2024).
